About The Event

Out of an abundance of caution, and in the interest of protecting the health of our guests, we have made the tough decision to cancel this event. We look forward to hosting more Bugs and Brews events in the future.

We love combining delicious Draught Works brews with cool bug talks and speakers. Join us for the March Bugs and Brews presentation: Bumblebee Biology 101!

About our Speaker: Rebekah Brassfield

Rebekah graduated from Concordia University Nebraska in 2017 with a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She began her career as a wildlife researcher working for the National Wildlife Refuge in Kenai, Alaska, where she learned to love field work and began concentrating on botany and entomology. From there, she has worked in various research positions from Auburn University Alabama to the Forest Service in Salmon, Idaho. She currently works at Salish Kootenai College as a wildlife research assistant where she has been researching bumblebees and their unique relationship with huckleberries. She will be starting her Master’s in Systems Ecology in the fall of 2020.

About the Presentation

Bumblebees are one of the best pollinators in the world. Learn to tell the difference between bumblebees and other insects, how to identify common species, and learn about their unique relationship with Montana's native plant community. As their populations decline, learn more about what makes these fuzzy pollinators an amazing and valuable part of our landscape.
